Way before my time as a Boston Cab driver brother. The only time I tried to rent from them I was told I needed a $500 deposit. I was bringing 5,000 calls a month with me and they still wanted a guarantee.

Hello...
I drove for the Barenholtz's when they fully ran Boston Cab at Queensberry & Kilmarknock St.

There was a dispatcher named "milty" who worked nights....is he still in the business, or long gone? The years I drove were 1980-1986 or so.
Some bad memories, some good memories. The Barenholtz's ran the place with an iron fist. They made Louie of "Taxi" look like a nice guy. Tons of stories from those days.

Milty the night dispatcher was a comforting voice on night shifts. He had an open-mike policy (you could hear the other drivers), and because of this, you didn't feel like you were so alone. I worked the whole city, and met the good, the bad and the ugly. It didn't matter what part of town I was in...there were great people in all the neighborhoods, from Roxbury to Beacon Hill, and absolute toads too.
